Smith Teaching and Learning Grant Applications Open; Deadline is 3-27-15

The Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education is soliciting proposals for $7,000 grants for innovative ideas that enhance teaching and laerning at WSU. Up to seven grants funded by the Samuel H. and Patricia W. Smith Teaching and Learning Endowment will be awarded. Request for Proposals information is online. Applications are due March 27, 2015; award winners will be announced in late April 2015.

Undergraduate Researcher Floricel Gonzalez Wins National Award

Floricel Gonzalez, 20-year-old WSU senior from Selah, Wash., won a top prize for her oral presentation in the microbiology category at the 2014 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS). Her story is also featured in the Yakima Herald-Review, her hometown newspaper.

45 Undergraduates Win 39 SURCA 2014 Research Awards

On March 28, 2014, students competed in eight categories. Forty-five took home monetary awards.

Distinguished scholarships awarded to 7 WSU undergraduates for 2013-14.
